Als Terson-Syndrom wird eine Glaskörperblutung bei Subarachnoidalblutung (SAB) bezeichnet. Sie tritt bei etwa 14–45 % der Betroffenen auf.cite-ref-mccarron-2-0[2]cite-ref-3[3]cite-ref-4[4] Das Risiko, an einer Subarachnoidalblutung zu versterben, ist bei Vorliegen eines Terson-Syndroms deutlich erhöht (Quotenverhältnis 4,8).cite-ref-mccarron-2-1[2]

Bei fehlender Spontanresorption der Einblutung kann eine Vitrektomie notwendig werden.cite-ref-5[5]

Das Terson-Syndrom wurde erstmals 1881 von Moritz Litten beschrieben,cite-ref-6[6] ist aber nach dem französischen Augenarzt Albert Terson benannt.cite-ref-7[7]
